Glide down the ice on the shimmering, majestic Royal Fountain, transformed for the holiday season into Snow Flake Lake. Located in front of the iconic Wonder Mountain and surrounded by beautifully lit trees and holiday light projections.
Ice skating on Snow Flake Lake will provide guests of all ages with the perfect holiday activity while they experience a Winter Wonderland. Non-skating guests can enjoy the enchanting views of Snow Flake Lake while taking in other sights and sounds that capture the spirit of the season.
If you're interested in skating, please note the following:
- All guests will require a reservation to skate, which must be made online in advance of your visit.

The cost for a 30-minute session starts at $10 per guest if you bring your own skates. If you need to rent skates, the price starts at $15 per guest. This includes a helmet if you require one.
- On your day of visit, make sure to redeem your e-ticket skate voucher and obtain a coloured wristband True North Gifts, located on the south side of the rink.
- All guests on the ice must be wearing skates, including children.
- Requirement for skating: 48" tall (without skates) to skate alone.
- Guests under 48” tall must wear a CSA-approved helmet and be accompanied by a supervising companion at all times. Helmets are available for guests under 48" for use free of charge.
- All guests must sign a waiver before skating. Access that online in advance before your visit. Those under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign on their behalf.

Skate sessions are 30 minutes each and include lace-up time. All guests must reserve their skating time in advance online for $10 with their own skates or $15 if renting skates. Space is limited. We strongly encourage checking in for your skate time up to 30 minutes in advance.

All skaters need a wristband, which corresponds to their ice time, before heading to the rink. Once you have your wristband, if you have a skate rental, those can be picked up at Skate Rental, which is also located at True North Gifts. If you’re bringing your own skates, once you’ve received your wristband, proceed directly to the ice rink at your skate time. We recommend guests arrive in advance of their time so they’re ready to lace-up as soon as their session begins.
All guests planning to ice skate must complete a waiver online. Guests ages 18+ must each complete their own individual waiver. Guests under age 18 must have a parent/guardian complete a waiver on their behalf.
In order to skate on Snow Flake Lake all guests must have properly fitting ice skates either brought from home or rented from Canada’s Wonderland ($15 per rental online – which includes reservation). Guests 48” and under must wear a CSA-approved helmet and be accompanied on the ice rink by a supervising companion. Helmets for children 48" and under are available for use free of charge. Skate rental sizes available range from Youth 6 to Mens 13.
Yes, skating is $10 if you plan to bring your own skates and all reservations need to be made online in advance of your visit. Space is limited. If carrying skates around the park, they must either be in a sealed bag or the blades must be covered by skate guards.
Guests under 48” must wear CSA-approved helmets. Canada’s Wonderland will have helmets available for use, free of charge for children under 48". Guests may also bring their own helmets.
Lockers are available to rent in the park and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Canada’s Wonderland assumes no liability for items in the locker. If carrying skates around the park, they must either be in a sealed bag or the blades must be covered by skate guards.
Once you leave the ice during your 30-minute session, you will not be permitted to re-enter.
Guests with a cervical collar or neck brace, full arm cast, braced arm cast, or full leg cast are not permitted to participate at this attraction. Guests must be able to take several steps and step on to the ice on their own or with the assistance of a companion. Guests in wheelchairs can enter via the exit and use their wheelchair on a skate-assist device which the park provides. Please see an ice rink associate for details.
Participants are asked to skate in one direction around the ice rink. Ice skates are required for all participants to be on the ice. Speed skating, roughness, excessive speeding or weaving through other skaters is prohibited.
Guests 48” and under must wear a CSA-approved helmet and be accompanied on the ice rink by a supervising companion. A supervising companion is someone who is 14 years of age or older and demonstrates appropriate observed behavior. Supervising companions are responsible for ensuring that the younger guest safely follows all rules and regulations while skating on Snow Flake Lake. Each supervising companion can accompany up to two younger guests.
Yes, a limited number of push skate-assists will be available for all guests, free of charge. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, all children need to wear skates on the ice.
No, due to safety considerations, these items are not permitted on the ice. For photo opportunities, it’s recommended guests have their photo taken near the entry and exit points, by a friend or family member who is off the ice.
