All the things you can do with your kids at Canada’s Wonderland this summer

June 27, 2023

School’s out! Let the summer fun begin!

If you’re a mom, dad or grandparent looking for some amazing summer activities to do with the kids, we’ve got you covered. From June to Labour Day, Canada’s Wonderland has your rides, water park fun, live entertainment and special events to keep all members of the family busy, no matter their age.

Here’s the rundown to help you plan your summer. All events are included with admission. Can’t decide what to do? Consider getting a Season Pass which gets you unlimited visits, so you can do it all!

Celebration Canada family activities

Celebration Canada

July 1 to 9, in Frontier Canada

This annual event is dedicated to celebrating the best of Canada, with live bands, street performers, indigenous performances, interactive family activities (like kid-friendly axe-throwing!) and tons of great food and drink. From noon to 8pm every day, food stations will be offering a variety of items like beef brisket sliders, poutine, Halifax Donair, Nanaimo Bar Milkshakes, classic Caesars and more!

  • TIP: Grab a tasting card to save on food and get either 4 or 6 tastings.
  • TIP: Consider the Celebration Canada Bundle and save up to $50. Includes admission, parking, and three tastings.

Fireworks

July 1, Aug. 6, Sept. 3

You haven’t seen fireworks until you’ve seen the spectacular display at Canada’s Wonderland! Watch 6,000 firework explosions fill up the night sky from 11 separate firing positions (including Wonder Mountain). The show starts at 10pm and is choreographed to different music every time, so no two shows are alike.

  • TIP: Make sure to check out the fireworks viewing map online to scope out a good vantage point. There are quite a few throughout the park.
  • TIP: If you’re looking for the ultimate experience, consider the VIP package that gets you unlimited snacks plus drinks at Lazy Bear Lodge, and prime seating with the best view in the house! Available online or in park at Lazy Bear Lodge, while quantities last.

Ultimate Thrills Human Cannonball

Ultimate Thrills Circus

June 30 to July 30 at International Showplace

If your kids want to be amazed, bring them by to see Ultimate Thrills Circus where Ringmaster Ian Garden presents breathtaking stunts and circus acts, including the human cannonball, the Globe of Destiny, clown antics, acrobatics and more!

  • TIP: Arrive early to ensure you get a great seat.

Cirque Ambiente at Canada's Wonderland

Cirque Ambiente

June 30 to Sept. 4, at Canterbury Theatre

Take a reprieve from the summer heat inside our theatre and settle in for an acrobatic and imaginative cirque show with feats of strength, balance and aerial artistry.

  • TIP: Arrive early to get a great seat.

Sesame Street at KidZfest

KidZfest

July 15-July 30, in KidZville

It’s a party just for kids! There will be TV character meet and greets with Peppa Pig, Bluey, PAW Patrol’s Skye and Rubble, the Sesame Street Gang, the Care Bears, Max & Ruby, Toopy & Binoo, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Thomas the Tank Engine. Also, don’t miss Marvel superheroes: Ant-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Star Lord and the Black Panther. There will also be dance parties, Aaron the Magician and Doo Doo the Clown!

  • TIP: Check dates and times of the meet n’ greets online in advance, to make sure your child gets to see his or her favourite!

Lazy Bear Lodge

Come for all the FOOD

Yes there’s funnel cake, but we’ve got a whole list of other tasty items to try and food festivals to plan for:

  • Visit Lazy Bear Lodge – This is our newest and largest restaurant, located behind Wonder Mountain with great views, a sprawling patio and seating for hundreds. Enjoy a gourmet meal like smoked beef brisket, barbecue chicken, the Impossible Meat stuffed pepper and more! Dining plan accepted.
  • Try the Tundra Twister-themed items – In honour of our new thrill ride, we’ve introduced the Tundra Twist Mango Dragonfruit Cider (by Ernest Cider), the Tundra Twisted Spiral Potato (with your choice of seasoning) and the Tyson Goldmine Dippin’ Dots Mix (Brownie Batter & Vanilla Cookie Dough flavours).
  • Get your sweet fix with the new Red Velvet Funnel Cake – topped with soft serve vanilla ice cream, decadent red velvet cake, strawberries and a cream cheese drizzle.
  • Taste of Portugal (Aug. 12-13 in Medieval Faire) – From noon to 8pm each day, you can enjoy lively street entertainment and traditional Portuguese foods like succulent roast chicken and custard tarts.
  • Taste of Brazil (Aug. 19-20 in Medieval Faire) - Treat your tastebuds to the lively and fresh Latin American flavours of Brazil, including grilled meats and chimichurri. Plus enjoy the styles, colours and music of traditional Brazilian performers.
  • Taste of the Caribbean (Aug. 26-27 in Medieval Faire) - Feast your senses at the lively and colourful Taste of the Caribbean food festival where guests will enjoy island flavours from jerk chicken to seafood dishes, rum cake and coconut desserts, plus sweet summer drinks! Dance along to steel drum music and transport yourself to the warm islands of the Caribbean.

Snoopy's Racing Railway

Try one of the new rides: Tundra Twister or Snoopy’s Racing Railway

We’ve got something for everyone, with the new thrill ride Tundra Twister (located in Frontier Canada by Yukon Striker) and the family launch coaster Snoopy’s Racing Railway (located in Planet Snoopy beside Lucy’s Tugboat).

  • TIP: Tundra Twister gives a different ride experience every time because the gondolas spin spontaneously depending on weight distribution and other factors. If you’re brave enough, ride more than once!
  • TIP: Children need to be 36 inches to ride Snoopy’s Racing Railway and must have an accompanying rider with them. Kids 48 inches tall can ride alone, but anyone over 60 inches needs to ride with a child.

Splash Works water park

Cool off at Splash Works

Our 20-acre water park is open daily and is included with a Season Pass or admission. From the big slides like Muskoka Plunge, to the wave pool, Lazy River and splash stations, there’s something for everyone in our water park!

  • TIP: Season Passholders get early entry to select attractions Splash Works at 10am every day.

Enjoy more world-class live entertainment

There are shows happening daily that you don’t want to miss! Including:
