Not a thrill-seeker? You can still fundraise for SickKids!
March 16, 2019First Ride Fundraiser allows you to raise funds and designate an alternate rider
This week we launched the Yukon Striker First Ride Fundraiser benefitting SickKids Foundation. Canada’s Wonderland has been a long-time supporter of the children’s hospital and we thought why not turn all this excitement for our new dive coaster into something that really makes a difference?
It’s been great to see so much positive feedback and the campaigning that’s begun so far. We’re thrilled so many jumped in with both feet for this cause!
But we’ve also noticed comments from many who say they’d love to participate, but they’re terrified of the ride. They’re politely passing and assuming this contest isn’t something for them.
Let me stop you right there. You don’t have to RIDE!
Though this is a fundraiser-contest to win one of the seats on the coveted first ride, we’ve made allowances so that:
- Individuals who fundraise and win can designate an alternate rider for the event (with that person’s consent of course!)
- Groups, companies, classrooms etc. can start their own collective campaign and choose a rider among their ranks to represent them (or hold your own internal draw to designate a rider).
So really, this contest is for anyone who wishes to support SickKids, regardless of whether you’re a thrill-seeker or not. Fundraise to help get someone else on Yukon Striker!
The fundraiser is open until April 16, so start your campaign today! For every $100 you or your group raise, you’ll get one entry in contest for a chance to be one of our 72 first riders. The more you raise, the more entries you receive and the better your odds of winning. See all the details here.
So don’t think you can’t make a difference, just because you’d prefer to watch the thrills from the sidelines. Sign up today and good luck!
