Aquatics

Lifeguard (Bronze Cross or NL Required) - Starts July 26th

$13-$13.50/hr


JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various water attractions, while providing professional lifeguarding
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Enforce proper riding positions and safety procedures in a hospitable manner
  • Scanning and dispatching guests in a cordial manner

Ride Operator

Entertainment


Assistant Stage Manager


JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the training and supervision of all staff to ensure proper adherence to all current park and departmental policies and procedures and to all current Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations
  • Work with the staff and other Entertainment Supervisors to ensure the artistic intent of show productions and the adherence of Performers to their Appearance Riders are maintained as set by Entertainment Management
  • Implement new ideas and procedures for the smooth operation of the theatre within the Department
  • Coordinate with the Costume Supervisor and Department Supervisors the maintenance and refurbishing of all show costumes
  • Appraise the performance of all employees in his/her program and initiate recommendations for promotions, and provide corrective action in accordance with company policies and procedures in conjunction with fellow supervisors
  • Responsible for all assigned assets and resources and the maintenance of same as required including the daily upkeep and cleaning of assigned facilities
  • Abide by and enforce all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the Park and the Entertainment Department.  Specific policies and procedures are outlined in the Park Employee and Entertainment Handbooks
  • Communicate daily with Department Manager and peers, to ensure work continuity within the operations of the Entertainment Department.  The Assistant Stage Supervisor will be required to attend and participate in weekly production meetings and produce reports as assigned
  • Use all means at his/her disposal to promote a positive spirit unity within the department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a post-secondary technical theatre program, that includes a specialty in the area of stage and/or production management
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • An understanding of procedures of the theatre, basic technical knowledge and proven leadership and people management skills
  • Administrative duties and computer literacy is important with experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
  • Previous Park experience or equivalent is an asset

Costumer


JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure all assigned costumes, wigs and worn props are maintained and worn in the same state as set during Tech Week by the Designers, Producer and Entertainment Management.

  • Perform daily cleaning, repairs, and maintenance of all assigned costumes.

  • Conduct daily checks of assigned costumes for preventative maintenance purposes.  This includes all assigned character costumes, clothing, wigs, headpieces, hats, shoes, costume pieces, and any worn props.

  • Maintain at all times a positive rapport with all guests and employees in the Park, whether it is during a performance, or during a personal encounter while out in the Park.

  • Ensure that all safety standards and practices are met.

  • Abide by all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the park and the Entertainment Department.  Specific policies and procedures are outlined in the Park Employee and facility handbooks.

  • Perform all duties as assigned by Department Management.  Daily duties will include but, not be limited to the cleaning of the break room, associated backstage areas, clean-up rehearsals, meetings and “notes” sessions.

  • Use all means at his/her disposal to promote a positive spirit of unity within the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a post-secondary program that includes a specialty in theatrical wardrobe, costuming or fashion
  • Have an understanding of all costume and wardrobe equipment.  More specifically: sewing machines, sergers, irons, steamers and laundry and maintenance equipment
  • A good working knowledge of adhesives will assist in character costume maintenance
  • A knowledge and understanding of fabrics and fabric care is also required

Walk-About Character - Height of 4'5"-5'2" Required


JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain performance standards at the highest level of professional expectations at the Park
  • Take proper care of each assigned character costume and props (where applicable) to ensure that they have the best possible appearance, including minor repair work as assigned and assist fellow Walk-about Character/Escorts to do the same

Rides Mechanic (Contract Ends Nov. 24th)


JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform all maintenance and repair as required
  • Complete all weekly, bi-weekly, monthly & bi-monthly preventative maintenance inspections
  • Responsible for auditing seasonal mechanics performance and assisting with their development
  • Clean and lubricate ride equipment
  • Check for proper oil levels in gearboxes, hydraulic units, etc.

Sign Shop Technician - Full Time Hours to November


JOB DUTIES:

  • Set-up for special event signage
  • Assembling signs

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for installing and maintaining all of the Park’s electronic systems

  • Assist in maintaining the 3D film projection system

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

JOB DUTIES:

  • Plans and executes the delivery of product to all retail/games locations
  • Processes product deliveries
  • Maintains responsibility for products including product placement, moving and communicating product levels with the goal of ensuring levels meet business demands
  • Ensures proper maintenance and cleaning of warehouse facilities and equipment
  • Assists Manager with all aspects of the warehouse operation
  • Establishes and builds relationships with warehouse associates, retail management and outside vendors
  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in a warehouse environment and working with heavy equipment is required
  • Enthusiastic with good communication skills
  • Able to work in an efficient manner with an emphasis on safety
  • Able to perform heavy lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Experience with a forklift is an asset
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License (class G/G2). Should a position be offered, the candidate must provide an abstract of their driving record
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, on weekends and holidays
  • Reliable source of transportation, outside of public transit
  • Candidates must provide their own pair of certified safety boots

JOB DUTIES:

  • Enhance the guest’s overall park experience by providing them an enjoyable interaction while completing a caricature drawing of their likeness. Ability to interact in a customer friendly dialogue while producing a drawing in an appropriate timeframe is essential.
  • Good drawing ability is important and required.
  • Previous caricature drawing experience is helpful, but not necessary for this position. Training is provided for qualified applicants.
  • Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions

  • Attention to detail, especially when documenting sales, is essential

Artist is expected to be able to complete a sketch within the established time frame of 5 minutes or less while conducting a ‘family friendly’ interaction with the guest. Subway Sandwich Artist


POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
  • Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Collects payment from guests and makes change.
  • Performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during the shift.
  • Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner.
  • Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
  • Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
  • Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image. Understands and adheres to the 3-step method for cleaning.
  • Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
  • Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
  • Completes University of SUBWAY® courses as directed.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Education: Some high school or equivalent.
  • Experience & Skills: No previous experience required. Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instruction.
  • Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

As a Wax Hands artist, you will be creating hand impressions out of wax for Canada’s Wonderland guests. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Create hand impressions out of wax for guests visiting at Canada's Wonderland

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Artistic background is an asset but it is not a requirement as training is provided

  • Very good communication and customer service skills (second language is an asset)
