CW 100 Reasons: #36

If you’ve ever ridden Leviathan, you’ll understand why it’s such a fan favourite. It’s smooth, fast and fun, but did you also know it’s the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in all of Canada with three minutes and 28 seconds of adrenaline, smiles and squeals? You also probably didn’t know that the name Leviathan refers to a gigantic sea monster of tremendous strength, described as the most powerful and dangerous creature in the ocean.

As if that’s not enough, here are three other reasons why you should consider riding this jaw-dropping coaster this summer:

World Class Coaster Riding Experience

Designed and manufactured by the Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard, known for their custom-built rollercoasters that promise a smooth ride, Leviathan opened for the 2012 season and attracts riders from all over the world, averaging about 1,700,000 riders per year!

Tallest Ride in the Park

Leviathan towers at an astonishing 306 feet (93.27 meters) above all of Canada’s Wonderland, making it the tallest ride in the Park – towering 76 feet (23.2M) taller than Behemoth, and 5 feet (1.52M) taller than WindSeeker.

However, you won’t exactly have much time to stop and enjoy the view. Leviathan will drop you at an 80-degree angle from 306 feet, which allows you to reach speeds of up to 148 km/hour!

The thrills don’t end there. With 5,486 feet of track, you’ll feel the rider’s rush through a series of massive camelback hills and a hammerhead turn at 115 degrees.

Jaw-Dropping Thrills All Season Long

For as low as $69.99 online, a Canada’s Wonderland Season Pass grants you unlimited access to Leviathan and over 200 attractions within the park. You can also experience live events such as Cirque Canadien, access Splash Works – Canada Wonderland’s premier water park opening May 27 featuring the new Muskoka Plunge – and big thrills including Behemoth and Drop Tower.  Best of all? Season Passholders will experience the all-new Soaring Timbers – a unique thrill ride that will send guests spiraling through the sky on two massive rotating gondolas that swing riders through sweeping arcs while rotating 360 degrees.

With more than 130 operating days this year, live events and access to two great parks, your Season Pass is sure to provide unlimited fun and thrills all season long.

So what are you waiting for? Be sure to pick up your pass before prices go up May 22. Also, don’t forget to use the hashtag #CW100Reasons to share your experience and pictures. We can’t wait to see you at the top!
