Canada’s Wonderland Prepares for a Monster-Sized Season!

VAUGHAN, ON (May 4, 2012) – Canada’s Wonderland, home of the most exhilarating collection of rides, roller coasters and water park fun in all of Canada, prepares to open its gates on Sunday May 6, 2012 for world-class thrills and family fun. New and exciting attractions await guests who visit the park this season highlighted by Leviathan – one of the world’s biggest roller coasters, and Dinosaurs Alive - an animatronic dinosaur park.

Leviathan, the Park’s 16th roller coaster dominates the landscape, taking riders to breathtaking heights and speeds never experienced before at Wonderland. The excitement begins on Leviathan’s first lift hill as riders climb to a record breaking height of 306 feet (93.3M) followed by an exhilarating 80 degree drop. Reaching a top speed of 148 kilometers per hour, riders will experience extreme coaster thrills on 5,486 feet (1,672M) of incredibly smooth track.

At Dinosaurs Alive guests will be awed as they interact with 40 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs set in a 7-acre themed environment. This first class interactive experience includes a gigantic Ruyangosaurus towering at 42 feet (12.8M) tall, and a vicious Tyrannosaurus Rex at over 60 feet (18.3M) in length. The journey is highlighted by a kid’s paleontological dig site where guests will be encouraged to help uncover the skeleton of a large predator that lies buried in the sand.

Guests who want to know even more about dinosaurs can also take in Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia 3D in the Action Theatre. Deeply rooted in science, this new 3D film narrated by Donald Sutherland, carries audiences back in time to witness these amazing beasts come to life.
